Esther was over at my parent's last night and she was helping my mom plant some flowers. They found an earth worm and after Esther carried it around for a half an hour, my mom told her she better put it back and get back to work. Esther was holding it in her hand and she held it close to her, almost hugging it and said "but I love him". My nature lovin' kid.....the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :)

Vacation from the everyday
Those of you who are housewives, stay at home moms, or even work part time, you know that you really never have any alone time....even shower or "bathroom time" turns into "Mommy, Gee hit me" or you hear screaming from another room, or slamming doors and you know that you better hurry it up, leaving you 2 miutes to wash your hair and your entire body..forget about shaving your legs. And sometimes you just want some "away time", even a different location can mean no laundry, no cooking meals, no washing dishes 4 times a day, so that's what we are doing. We have been going, for the last 3 years, to San Diego in the beginning of June, mostly because MOPs/MOTs ends and it gives me a chance to regroup and because school isn't out yet, so tourist season hasn't hit it's all time high, but also because I am just looking for some time away from the everyday. We get free tickets to Sea World because of their Hero Salute and last year we stayed on Shelter Island, which is amazing so we are staying there again this year. Just 2 nights away, but I'll take it. :)

Lil' E says....
Esther newest thing is to say "I did not", then fill in the blank. For example, she tells me she's going to use the bathroom, and what feels like 20 minutes later, she comes out wet, head to toe. I ask her what she has been doing, and she tells me "I did not wash my hands." Which of course, means she did. Yesterday, I was in our bedroom and I heard Gideon crying from the other room and I ran into the room to see what was going on. I ask what happened and she says, "I did not hit Gideon." So at least she's easy to figure out.

Cayucos
Of course a trip up the coast is never complete without a trip to the beach (usually Cayucos since they are dog friendly). Even in the cold and wind, we all seem to have the BEST time.
What's with boys and sticks???
Colt saw a crab and insisted on catching it...& being the "croccodile hunter" that he is, did.
Esther with the crab in her hand.
Best buds.
Me and my sweet, happy boy.
Trouble!
