Even though we only live an hour or so from them, we rarely get to spend some quality time with Steve's brother and his wife. So last weekend, after the Wild Animal Park, we took the long way home and spent the night at Scott and Kristy's condo in Newport.
We had such a GREAT time. We finally got to spend some time with 2 of our favorite people.
Our gracious hosts for the weekend. For dinner, they grilled up some yummy veggie burgers for me and the kids and steak for Steve. Then the next morning, Kristy cooked us up an amazing breakfast. I literally felt so pampered. They wouldn't even let us help with the dishes.
Sunday, we spent the late morning and afternoon on Balboa Island. We took the ferry and walked all over. Enjoying the beautiful weather (it had been overcast all week Kristy said, but the sun came out that day "just for us.")
Gideon got a pretty good view courtesy of his Uncle Scottie.
Esther just LOVES her Auntie Kristy. She couldn't stop talking about the weekend.

What a GREAT spot for lunch. Just grabbed some sandwiches and drinks at the local store and found a bench.

It was such a nice little getaway. We have to do it more often.

Melissa, I understand. We talked about you guys too & the AMAZING trip to Colorado...lovingly jealous of that as well. :)
